Description
The Bobo tribal group lives in eastern Burkina Faso. Primarily farmers, their masks symbolize animals or spirits and are worn during ceremonies associated with crops, initiations and funerals. This is a very old and nice ram's head helmet mask with encrustations and minor age cracks. It is a very nice collector's piece.

Lulua Mask
Description
The Lulua people migrated from western Africa and settled in the Democratic Republic of Congo in the 18th century. Numbering approximately 300,000 they live in small regional chiefdoms. Socially, they live in a caste system. According to Bacquart, Lulua mask are extremely rare, and are used during funeral ceremonies and circumcision rites.
